Remote turn on, with stock radio

I'll have some eD 8's, and I probably won't use them, atleast won't use two of them.

I want to give my setp dad a little bump in his 08' F450. He doesn't want to upgrade the headunit, so the stock is all that I have to work with.

Planning on doing the 8's in a little sealed box or boxes, one sub on each side behind the seats.

I'll be donated him my Kenwood two channel, once I get me a nice 2 or 4 channel.

The Kenwood has speaker level inputs, so I won't need to get a LOC.

Question is, what do I do for a remote turn on lead for the amp? I was thinking a wire off the power wire (going to be using 8 gauge) running it to a switch, and just use the switch to turn it on or off. What else can I do though? The new 08 dash looks like a real bish to take apart to run wire and a switch to it.

there should be a blue wire in the radio harness that tests as an accessory, tap into that for power

Why do you need a switch?

If your really ghetto and lazy you could also fuse tap
^^^^Thanks for that. It will make it a hell of a lot easier for me now that I know how the dash pulls apart. I'm not ghetto or trying to be lazy, but I didn't know how the dash came apart. The truck is brand new, and 6 months old, and my step dad is VERY anal about stuff being done to the truck. He will like the turn out though.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I just tap into an ignition switched section of the fuse panel.
