remote start

The vehicle does not have to have power locks to have a remote start properly installed. Although it is nice, it is not necessary. The configuration of the remote transmitter to get the vehicle to start is just that...to get it to start. You can also add power locks to the vehicle if you wish...it isn't that hard at all. Just add the lock solonoids and two wires to each door. They just tie into the lock rod system in the door behind the panel. Find out where you can mount the solonoid so that it will be out of the way of the door panel and can still operate the rod system. The solonoids usually come with easy to understand directions.

i havent look into them much but mine has a audiovox remote start and has been going for 11yrs now. I am pretty impressed by that :0)

The only problem I have found with my car and the shop said others will do this as well. When you use the remote start after so long you will need to replace your catalitic converter. Something about when it sends a signal to start the car it does something to it. But mine was replaced before i bought my trooper used off my aunt and she has papers showing me about that she had the started installed as well. But it took like 6yr for this to happen.
