remote start/alarm

ok, currently i have stock alarm and no remote start. I want to change that. Im looking at running cheap, especialy since i dont have much in car audio invested. Its more for the remote start. Here are some features i am wanting but dont nessesarily need:

roll windows up/down

turn ac on (my car when turned on doesent have the ac on) (i live in texas)

id like to have somehow my iphone streaming to my HU so i can select music before i even get to my car, but i realize thats pretty worthless

okay so let me get this right you plan to go cheap but want all this extra stuff? not going to happen. standard rem start/alarm and keyless with 2 way pager viper system installed at best buy is like 430.00 then plus any bypass you need plus like 75--125 for the adaptor to roll down the windows and the AC well you just make sure to leave it turned on when you cut the car off so it will be on when the car comes on...duh....and either ur HU is able to link to the ipod/iphone or it cant. period. there is no adding some of this stuff...how do yyou have over 1k post and dont know this?

^ becuase i never was intrested at all in a remote start. i know almost nothing about them, other then well, they remote start a car. And i was more talking on the iphone thing on an app i have that you can control a computer from anywhere over 3g, something of that style. i knew it was almost a for sure no, but it doesent hurt to ask. someone might have known about something like that.

And how are the omega remote starts?

Ive used the excaliber remote start on my 02 merc sable for almost 3 years now it works flawless and its super expandable, i reprogrammed it myself it has like 30 something features in all. Never had any problems with it. But i also paid a little over 400 for it. I doubt you find something in the ball park for less then 300. :-/

what im curious about is why i see alot of 60-100 buck remote starts, and then alot of 400 buck ones. i understand that the more expensive ones are nicer, but what all makes them worth four times as much

I believe it would be expandability, reliability, and features...but then again it usually always is.
