My friend got a pair of those MB Quart 15s and a Lanzar amp that are onsale on woofersetc.com...

What's the best way to wire this ish up? It says the amp is 2ohm stereo stable but idk lol what would you fellas recommend? Idk how he has it hooked up now but it sounds like str8 up a$$hole! I told him I'd fix it for him but now that I see the specs, Im not sure which is the best option...

SPECS POSTED BELOW

Subs:

■Peak Power Handling: 1400 Watts

■RMS Power Handling: 700 Watts

■Subwoofer Size: 15"

■Impedance: dual 2 ohms

Amp:

■2 x 1000 RMS at 4 OHMS

■2 x 2000W MAX at 4 OHMS

■1 x 4000W MAX at 4 OHMS Bridged

■2 x 1650W at 2 OHMS

■MOSFET

Shouldn't really matter. Either wire each sub to 4 ohms or wire the pair to 2 ohms and bridge the amp.
Can't say whether or not that Lanzar amp will do rated either way...
I'm sure it wont do rated lol so good thing he's got a bit of headroom to fiddle w/. I think his Alpine HU cost him more than his subs and amp lol

Those subs are pretty nice. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
Run them sealed...
Yea he built a sealed box for it but it has no bracing and has a bajillion airleaks. Idk why he waited to call me up but we gotta redo the whole box the right way :p

that amp isnt 2ohm stable bridged so run each sub at 4 omhs to a separate channel. build a ported box for it so that you get good output out of it because they wont see RMS power on that amp. also tune to about 32 if you choose to build ported. should cost about 35 bucks to build it depending on wood cost near you and will take a day or 2 so make your buddy hook you up with some food or some ish

I cud TOTALLY use some food! Yea, i was thinkin about building a ported box. It's a early 90s foxbody mustang so it shud get pretty loud in thurrr

Those MB Quart subs are recommended for sealed enclosures. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

yeahh since its in a fox hatch, you can seal them hoes up and be good. build a big sealed enclosure to increase sub efficiency so they wang off of little power.. i have toooons of experience with the foxes so lemme know if you run into some problem. i have an evo/madmax 15 in the back seat area of my coupe on 3K //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

shweeet thanks! I'm still considering porting tho :p

It also increases Impedence rise so if he wires each sub to 4 ohms, that amp might see 6 or 8 ohms or who knows what. There is always a trade off bro.

You can build it however you want, I was just telling you that MB Quart recommends them for sealed enclosures. 1.5 cubes per sub if you want to get technical...
wooord, we'll see what happens. Maybe someone that has one of those box design programs can send me some build plans or somethin //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif might be sweet w/ some aeros
