Remote signal wire gauge

Just curious, what gauge should a remote signal wire be? i know 12 or 16 gauge is way too big, maybe 20 or 22 gauge?

i guess 22 would work, not like it can be too big, i usaully use 18 or 16

I think mine is 284 gauge...there's maybe 8 strands.

So, I should use 18 gauge or so if I was to use 4 amps?

i use kicker 16 ga. i have a lot of the wire so i figure why not.

Use a relay with that many amps. You don't want to overload the remote on your HU and blow the circuit, or possibly the unit.

Bingo. There's no information being sent or high amperage current. Just a conductor that when it hits 12V, tells the amp to turn on.
