Remote gain knobs.

I am running a Dayton HO 10 off my Cadence TXA-3002. I have the remote knob that came with the amp. I am going to plug it in and run it up front. i am wondering how these work exactly.

Lets say I have the gain set to half on the amp. When I plug this remote knob in how will it affect the gain. When I turn the remote knob all the way up will that turn the gains all the way up or only to half because that is what the gain on the amp is set too. Alternatively, if I turn the remote knob to half, will that put the gains at half of what the gain on the amp is ( 1/4 ).

Sorry if that is difficult to read or understand.

That specific amp and knob will only reduce the gains from what is set on the amp. It is merely a gain reduction circuit. So if you max the gain knob and only have the gain on the amp set at half way the gain will be halfway.
