remote gain control issues

Hi, I have a Power Acustik PS1-3000D running my T5-12's

I seem to be having a problem with the remote gain control. Some time I have it just barely past the middle and it seems to drop back down to minimum gain while driving. At first I thought the subs might be going, but that is not the case. I did some testing and determined that it is the remote knob control that must be loosing connection spontaneously. So, do I have to do through PA to order a new controler or do you have other suggestions?
