ya, i cant figure out which wire to use as the remote wire, any other help, that was a good read, but im still confused.....and it has to be the remote from the radio, since in this case im using it for an antenna...and well i dont want to have to turn the car off to get it to go down, and i could install a seperate switch for it, but i'd much rather do it right
The red wire on the back of the radio is the remote switch. If there is more than one then get a voltmeter. One of the wires is connected the ignition switch and another is connected directly to the battery. Stick the voltmeter on to the wire while the car is off. Only one wire should receive power when the car is off. When you turn the key and you recieve power but the car isn't started, then another wire will receive power, that wire will be the remote switch. Thats's why if the key is not in the ignition, everything is off but if the ignition is turned on than everything gets power. Hope that helps.
