i was a retard yesterday doing some welding without a mask because i couldnt find it.

and i am paying for it today.

my face is sunburned, my eye lids are even sunburned.

and all the light colors i see are kind of washed out.

moral of this story, DON'T BE A DUMB ASS LIKE I WAS......

I don't use the mask because I cannot see very good.

I always move my hand before I start and mess up. If I keep my eye on it, I don't move my hand.

I did some overhead welding onetime without denim sleves on...and it was the most intense pain when the slag dripped on my arm. NEVER did that again. Hell I ahvent welded in a year or so, I miss it, nothing like the smell. Need to pick up the hobby again.

On another note kids, remember not to stare directly at the sun! You're an idiot, but flashburn will learn you real quick and I guarantee if your eyes get itchy enough (it'll happen if you really have flashburn) that you'll never weld without a mask again. And if you can't see with a mask, go to harbor freight and pick up a cheap auto darkening hood. Doesn't sound like you weld much so no point in dropping the big bills on a miller auto hood but the HF will work good enough. Much better then just a dark lense to look through lol

I didn't wear proper glasses when inspecting a large UV light bulb array for

burnt bulbs. I figured it would only take a short moment to examine this.

Next day I was blind and had to get medical aid and spent a couple of days

with patches on both eyes. This was 20 years ago dumbness. Ever try to pee

with your eyes closed ? lol

Heh funny story we do a lot of welding and fabrication here..

When I started I was talking to the shop guys and I was like

"You guys just get back from florida why are you all so tanned?"

and it's the welding it gives them a retarted dark tan!
