It's not political, it's historical. Pilgrims came as a result of religious persecution. It's history.

There is some History for you! Lets not even bring up the thousand year war, that...well is still going on. Or how about Isreal, how long have they been fighting over religious beliefs? Call em fanatics, zelics...whatever...it's still religion based. It's just one way for someone to enforce what they see as right onto others.

I agree. Religion does cause a lot of crap in the world, however it also does a lot of good. Take a look at the start of most aid organizations around the world. Most are started by religious groups. When a religion preaches hate, then it causes problems, but when a religion teaches love, it becomes part of the solution and anybody who preaches hate of any people (not thing), including mister Phelps, should not consider themselves a Christian.
