If you're using people as references to make a point, you should find out as much about them as possible...unless you really like to be led around on a leash for the rest of your life. That goes whether you're religious or not.

I don't even remember how we got to debating the existance of God and the origin of life. My point in all this is IMO, a majority of the material that religion uses to support it's claims is faulty. IMO, the Bible is not an accurate and infallible documentation of Jesus, God's will, or historical events of the time.

how do you know christianity is the true religion? when i die i may find out hindu is the true religion and then be condemed for eternity cause i hate thousands of hamburgers over my lifetime. i'll argue that god is in my belly and you cannot condem god for eternity

Any religion that doesnt profess the teachings of the bible and jesus is not a true religion. Love urself as u do ur neighbor and God above all... once u do that all will come into place and u will be more like him. Salvation is already bought, u just have to accept it .

And thats my rant.

Before I read up on the thread I just wanted to ask this, might have already been asked but yeah....Who created God? How is God alive? I thought God was the holy spirit not a living breathing human being

It's only worthless to those that don't like to learn.

To better understand the nature of God, just look at a hologram or a crystal. As many times as you divide it, you just keep getting smaller and smaller replicas of the original shape. This continues onto infinitum...both toward very small and toward very large.

God works in the same way. He can multiply Himself into anyting and still be perfectly preserved. That's why in many esoteric and metaphysical texts you will see the "as above, so below" analogy used to explain the nature of Him.

lol how do you know god and jesus are true religion? how do you know that a cow isn't god? or that the sun is god? like mentioned before the bible is a collection of STORIES passed down. no proof if they were true. today we got reality TV and citcoms, back then they had stories for entertainment

We are just going to have to disagree.

Basically the church uses the idea of Faith to sidestep any relevent question that is brought up that doesn't fit into it's agenda. If there is ever a challange to it's presence, the response is always "fatih". This is exactly why religion in this country and others is in the condition it is today.

if you are interested, "Why Christianity must Change or Die" would be a good read. It was written by an Episcopalian Bishop and does not challange the existance of God, birth of Jesus, or the death of Jesus, but addresses questinos of validity within the church.

They are one... its the triology. God, Son Holy spirit. God wasnt created, hes always been alive. Hes eternal.
