Right...if happy is just an emotion we can be happy without being sad. When experiencing emotion I don't compare it to a less desirable emotion.

I'm not saying they are the answers your looking for, but they're there...as rediculous as they may sound, they're there.

believe it or not i have studied the bible. when i lived in detroit i attended a private school. i have been over the old and new testements. how can you take that info and believe it? the bible is a collection of STORIES passed down verbaly even until someone decided to publish them and make a collection called a bible. the only source of entertainment back then was story telling. people living in the belly of a whale, a miracle worker, an ark, parting of seas etc are all nice elaborate stories

Because you have to have the evil to realize the happy. Without knowing there is an alternative, you would just be. So you can't just be happy. Once you bring happy into the equation, you bring in the opposite.
