i was raised catholic/christian you could say. i was baptized as a baby, went to a catholic school and church until my dad decided to start takin the family to a non-denominational christian church. things were good, the way things were taught there you have to be baptized at an age you understand why you need to be baptized so i was baptized again.
after that my parents enrolled me in a christian school, i dont know what denomination it was, if any, but i did have a problem with the way they tried to implant their churches beliefs on everyone at the school. it was alrite i guess, couldnt do much, but then i moved out to florida and went to public school. found a small non-denominational church in orlando and go there, but as of lately i dont go as much. i guess you could say im not the christian i should be now cuz i dont do what the typical "christian" should, but i do pray every night thanking God for everything, and i do believe that Jesus died for everyone n resurrected himself.
i forget who said it but someone mentioned how religion = politics, and you know what? that person was speakin the truth. too many people nowadays use religion as a tool, rather than a way of improving one's life.
im glad everyone in here is bein honest with their beliefs and with what the other kid said about christians confessing their beliefs i have to tell him something. most of the people that profess to be christian are bible illiterate, meaning they couldnt defend their position if they were to have a discussion with people who have different beliefs. me, i dont know as much as i should, but im confident that i kno enough to back up my beliefs. but then again the people that do say that they're christian should profess it. its what God asks them to do in the bible.
people should just believe what they want to, religion/beliefs shouldnt be forced on anyone who doesnt want to believe. believe what you want and be confident in it....
It was me that said that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif .
I agree with what you say.
One thing I've noticed over the years is that the Christian schools do not prepare people for life in the way they should be. The schools almost brainwash the kids into thinking what the school wants, and if you think otherwise, you are looked down upon.
If you were to openly confess to not being a Christian in my school, your grades would show. It worked like that.
My last year in HS my teacher taught us all different religions, but presented them all with a biased view. For me, her efforst backfired, and I like the other religions more. Christianity is almost as closed minded as some of the other cults of the day.
If people were to abide perfectly by everything the bible teaches us, they wouldn't get very far. I think the church kinda/sorta teaches people to be nieve and just forgive everyone and let it be ok...
My opinion on Christian schools is that if you are nieve, you will just go with the flow, profess to be "christian" and think no more. You'll just follow aimlessly and do what you are told. The few, like myself, who actually catch this similarity to other religions teachings, are looked down upon. This school really turned me off onto the politics of Christianity, and from that, I kinda made my own beliefs.
Why can't Christianity just say "As long as you believe there is a God, he created everything, and Jesus was his son" you are ok? Why is it, that if your God is called Allah, you burn in hell?
I really don't like Christians, and haven't gone to church(besides what was in my school) in about 8-9 years. I despise the fake people there.
Christianity is also so full of fake people who profess to live by the teachings, but don't. They simply put on a nice face on sunday and make everyone believe they are so "holy". Hypocrites=most of the Christians I've ever met.
