earlier today i plugged in my ipod to my pc, and noticed all my songs (1,500) are gone. when i-tunes came on a dialog box popped up and asked me something, but didn't have anything to do with deleting music, so i chose yes. now i have no music on my ipod. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif does anyone know how to restore my music??

its always helpful to actually READ those dialoge boxes... theygenerally dont just pop up for their health...

just set it up like you did the first time!?!?!?
i was afraid of that response, but there has to be a way to restore them.

look in your itunes program folder. there should be a folder with all of your music in them. simply drag all of the music back to your itunes. if not in there whereever esle you saved your music..and if that doesnt work.....if you have win xp. go to start>program files> accessories> system tools> system restore. what this does is set your computer back a day or so to exactly how it was. so just set it back to yesterday and it should fix the problem.

hope this helps

Don't you love computers?

neither worked, but thanks anyway.

If you've just upgraded to iTunes 4.9, there's a chance that your 'Library' was lost in the upgrade; But the files should still be on the hard-drive, as stated above, in C:\program files\iTunes, or similar.

If the songs were purchased from the iTunes Music Store, go to http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/purchase.

There's a form there, where you can request to be re-credited your downloads; They don't always say yes, but throw in the iTunes 4.9 thing, and maybe it'll work out for you.

By the way; That box said "This iPod is currently linked to another iTunes library - Would you like to link it to this library?"

That popped up because the contents of your iPod didn't match the contents of the computer (likely you updated your iPod on another computer, or deleted some files from iTunes' Library)

Love, Apple.

* aside from that, iPodlounge.com / iPodders.com may have information or software that has to do with recovering data from your iPod.
yes, i went on those yesterday and they said that you must purchase a recovery program for $40!!! and no i didn't buy them off itunes, that's crazy!!
