Our 05 pilot gets like 20ish and like 25 highway...plus it's still worth most of what we paid for it (hold there value really well).

hate on ford if you want but my family has driven fords exclusively and has never had any problems outside of normal maintenance, mine is approaching 11 years old now, and I've had it for the last 5 and have never had any issues.

If you know how to maintain a car it will last.

Anywho, I would have to recommend a Ford Escape/Mercury Mariner or a Toyota Rav4

My 96 Sploder Sport is at 94000 miles and gets 16/21

Escape/Mariner: I-4: 22/26mpg 153hp 152tq V6: 20/24mpg 200hp 193tq

Rav 4: I-4: 24/30mpg 166hp 165tq V6: 22/29mpg 269hp 246tq

i get about 19 mpg on my 05 xterra. that's with a 4.0 litre 265 hp engine.

I test drove one of those a little while ago, and was very dissappointed with the enigine. Good MPG, but you could fvcking walk there faster.
