Reinforcing where the roof meets the windshield...

Well, I have always had some pretty bad flexing problems with where my windshield meets my roof, and I finally want to do something about it.

My car(01 focus zx3) is completely deadened, and I need something to put at the front of my roof to strengthen it greatly. Ideally, I would weld in some 1" steel tubing, but I'd rather not have to repaint any. I was thinking maybe a hardwood and liquid nailing it to the front of the roofline...

Ill get a pic with the headliner off tonight so you all can get a better idea of what im working with.

Yeah, I remember hearing something about that back on SPLenduro forum or something. What material did you use?
