Alright guys, im setting out to build 2 single 10' slot ported enclosures for my regular cab silverado. I am planning to do a rear firing enclosure (into the back wall) and leave about and inch and half behind the box so the subs dont fire right up against the back wall. Ive been told this will be a better setup then to have them firing forward into the seats, is this true? Any comments, suggestions, experience with similar situations would be greatly appreciated. I want to do this once and do it right. Thanks in advance.

Another idea is to fire out the side like this...

The idea is to fire the port out the side, possibly at the bottom of the box or at the top. I am making sketches and diagrams as we speak as i did some measuring tonight. However, i have absolutely no idea how big of a port to put in each box. I may just do one joint box with a divider in the middle, i want to keep them in separate chambers, or i may do two separate boxes, i guess its going to depend on how much airspace i can get. Thanks for the help so far, hopefully we can get a good tuturial going here on reg cab boxes and the best design possible. Thanks.

If you check out the TP series in the link below, they are slot ported truck boxes. It says they are tuned to 45 hz, how can i go about tuning my boxes to the desired hz, i have no idea what hz i should be aiming for. Im beginning to think it will be easier to just do a sealed setup, but really want to see if it is possible to go for a ported box in a reg cab. Thanks

It just takes time,, I think you will be happier with ported,, if its that confusing to ya then give one of these box builders on her your info and let them do the work for a cheap price and you will be happy
