Where are you reading this? Link?I'm reading that LLP is an acoustic foam, meant to absorb sound... would that not absorb an appreciable amount of bass from the trunk? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
No, it will not absorb any sound, really. The foam is an integral part of the blocking ability of the product. It's there to keep the barrier layer away from the substrate. Translation: it's not a foam absorber pad, it's blocker glued to closed cell foam. Absorptive foam is open cell.
Luxury Liner uses an open cell foam, but it's only 1/4" thick and won't do much at all for noise absorption. Again, it's there to float the barrier layer.
LLP is designed to block noise from coming into your vehicle. Your sub plays the same frequencies as a low exhaust drone, engine hum or other outside noises. Left unabaided, these noises basically compete with your sub and stereo system SPL as a whole. If you successfully attenuate them down with LLP, it will ONLY benefit your system. Your thought that you will loose bass is incorrect.
