i got a stock battery now under the hood, i dont feel like adding one in the trunk, i got an orion 2500d and two 12" L7's, should i change the one under the hood to a yellow top or red top? also i am getting the big 3, 0 gauge wiring throughout the car, and a 2 farad cap. you guys think im going to notice my system puts out more power then it is now with 4 gauge wiring and stock battery also my lights dim a shitload

I have had an optima yellow top and red top and my lights still dim/flicker. I have clarion HU, infinity components, 2 zapco amps, 12" treo sub and lightning audio cap...i have no clue how to stop my lights from dimming

IF you like to play your system with the car off for extended periods of time then go with the yellow top , if you only play while the engine is running a red top or any other decent lead acid battery will do . The ONLY cure for your dimming is a high output alternator , that 2500D pulls what , 200 to 250 amps of current at full tilt , thats just too much for a stock alt to keep up with .//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Only real world advantge to me is that you can mount a red top in any direction...
You can mount the yellow top any way too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

i'd go with the yellow top like i have.its a deep cycle drycell batt. Red top is great if ur a racer. yellow top is meant for the accesory load. U should do the big 3 before u buy a new batt to see if that will solve ur prob.

Do you play your system while the car is off for extended periods of time?

Yellowtop.

Do you want good starting power and system is mostly on while the car is on?

RedTop

Case solved
