reconing subs yourself

hey, i see people all the time selling and buying motors, which is understandable on expensive subs, like FI, high end TC's, RE, etc. I am wondering where everyone is getting the softparts. Apparently FI is the cheapest, and they are over $100 for just the cone, vc and surround. So why would someone spend $120 to recone a TC2 themselves that is that price brand new? Is there a place with cheaper parts?

usually you only see people reconing the higher end lines of those various companies.

A fully loaded BTL 15 is close to 500 dollars...

500 vs. 120 for recone.

agreed, i understand that. But look in the wtb section, and there are people wanting and selling cheapo motors.

they want them so they can learn how to recone...awesome idea IMO
