Here at school, I continuously find myself wanting to do more audio related projects other than doing new system installs on my own vehicle every month. I've been pondering learning how to recone subs just for the fun of it, then sell/use them to keep me busy.

Is it worth the time to recone subs and sell them? I dont even mind if i break even, but i dont want to lose money on this.

I figured it would be a good time consumer to recone and sell/use/test out subs, if it doesnt start putting a hole in my pocket.

my next project is a recone hybrid. ill be starting next week if you have any free time and wanna come help
Ill be here in pullman until the end of may //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

but hybrid subs are exactly what i'de want to do. I just dont wana get into it if i'll lose money on the whole ordeal. At least not too much money.

well? do you recone guru's find yourself losing money when you recone and sell?

if you do happen to come over here, hit me up. I wouldnt mind coming to see how that reconing business works, but definately not worth the drive hehe. costs me about $170 round trip.

for sure. my friend heads over there every other weekend so one of these times ill tag along and bring my beast.

If you can find the motors cheap enough you could probably turn a profit.. For instance, I've noticed that XXX motors sometimes go for ~150-175 and a recone is ~100-125...but the whole drivers sell for ~300+ here... I would say its safe to guess you would atleast come out even if you get the motors cheap enough.
