recone shifted! what to do!

hey there everyone

i just reconed my mt's and one of them the spiders shifted for some reason, and is rubbing slightly.

i free aired them today and one is fine, but one rubs.

how do i fix this problem, can i use some sort of ca de-bonder and de-bond the spider pack from the basket, or am i screwed and have to get a new recone

There is such a thing as hobby grade de-bonder it works real well it's made for this type of high grade ca look for it at tower hobbys.

also if the glue is brittle enough you can sometimes pop it off with the spider landing with a chisel. slide it over then re-glue it.

I know what will fix it a knife, and another kit . They don't call this an expensive hobby for nothing.

if properly shimed and the shim kept in teh woofer tell the CA was cured it shouldnt shift

when i do tight gaped subs i build the kit as you would buy it.

next drop in and shim.

use e6000 and glue the surrond down by cutting a piece of 4g wire to go around the outer edge then clamp with cloths pins.

now glue the spider inplace, use a extender tip or put a piece of shrink tube over the glue tip and warm. let it soak in for 10mins before spraying activator.

with tight gapped subs a little pull on the surrond can put pressure and when you pull the shims it will rub...

what shim should i use, because i just use index cards, and that seemed to work until this happened

index cards should work fine. i uses plastic shim stock...
