So I am not looking to spend a fortune, and other than wiring in a few decks, and changing some speakers out I dont have much experience in car audio. with that being said, i have a 90 jeep wrangler. i could add all the specs on my jeep but i will stick to the jeep forum for that. anyway, i bought it a few months ago and it came with a pioneer deck. i took the top off, it rained, smoked the deck. so i went to advanced auto and picked up a dual deck. nothing special, aux input for my sirius, ipod usb, not even a cd player(does anyone use them anymore?). its a 200w deck 50 per speaker. its pushing 3 6x9s, i have one up front in front of my shifter, and 2 mounted to the wheel wells in the back. it came with 2 roadmasters in the back and that was it. i had 2 sony xplod 6x9s in boxes sitting around so i put the one up front. one of the roadmasters was shot, so i swapped it with the other sony i had. it sounds pretty good, but i want a little more oomph, if you get my drift. i am looking at adding a sound bar in the future, and would like to get an amp to push my current speakers, and will help with the sound bar when i get it. i do believe the speakers are rated to 300w, i know the sonys are, and i am pretty sure the roadmaster is also. so i was thinking about getting either a 3 or 400w amp for this purpose. ive seen a few on
ebay, the marine ones, decent prices, and being that summer is hear, i will have my bikini top on for the majority of it. any recommendations? what should i go with, and what do i need for wiring etc? ground the amp, run a heavy gauge wire to the battery, and plug it into the back of my deck, at least thats what the guys at work said. any and all help is appreciated. thanks!
