Recommend a pair of budget car speakers

First off I want to thank the knowledgeable few who assisted me with the HU rec during my last thread.

I have a 1999 Montero sport without the infinity system. I want to replace the speakers all around the car but my knowledge is little when it comes to car audio. Which brands should I avoid and which are the superior ones? My budget is $60 or below.

Oh wow I thought that was more than enough for a good low tier set, how wrong i was lol!

Anyway, im not that big on buying on Ebay, or buying used from other people (trust issues) so would 150 dollars be enough on a site like crutchfield or sonic electronix??

well you might get something decent, but if you truly want something thats a significant improvement there's a lot of us who will tell you that it's gonna cost a little bit more.

sonic and crutchfield are good, but amazon is usually much cheaper and you get a 1 yr warranty through them because its classified as an "automotive" part
@Jeffdachef can offer you better suggestions, im sure hes heard many more brands than I

Sonic sells in ebay too. There's a thing called paypal and ebay protection so i dont see the issues of buying it from there, no different then crutchfield, sonic, soundsolutionsaudio or woofersetc..

Great for the rear, or even up front on some power of 60-100 rms.I run these or the 60 rms version in rear for fill alot of times, though I have ran these up front and do very well.I prefer a component set up front and the 60-100 rms for rear passengers in a 4 door.

Looks like alot of people swear by those polk audio's. Got a solid list of recs, now to find out if they fit my vehicle. Out of all the speakers mentioned ITT, which have the darkest tone? I mostly listen to jazz, classical and trance.

Not sure what you mean on Darkest tone?? But for what you have mentioned you mainly listen too,those Polks are and will do nicely for the money..also do great on Dubstep..I mean, for the money.they are my choice of under $130 bucks on components.Coax..Though you may be able to find some lightly used CDTs even from a member.

I recommend placing at the min. of a 2 ch amp on the front speakers, and run the rears off of the hu with a bass blocker
