Here's my current set up

Alpine SPX 6.5" Comps

JL W3V3 12" Sub

Rockford Fostgate P450.4 multichannel Amp

well.. 450 watts isn't enough for me and I'd like an upgrade. Anything good out there? That's also not overly expensive :p I'd like something that's relatively the same size as the Rockford one I have because my box was made to fit the amp

Also, would a 12 gauge wire be enough for a sub to support, say 500watts? Thanks

Keep the RF bridge it to your components and keep gains real low and HP filter on. then check this out

MTX TC4001

http://salestores.com/mtxtc400.html

400x1 at 2 ohms

your current amp does 225 x1 and you sub is rated at 300rms so you cant go too much bigger.

maybe MTX X-Thunder X500d

500 at 2ohms what voice coil config do you use.

Main problem is a that most 100x4 are only gonna do 300x1 to your sub so 75 more to sub and and 25 more watts to your highs. That might be all you need really. Good luck

a Mono block like that MTX looks pretty good, and I could run only the sub off of that but I don't want to run another power cable to that... and can you bridge 2 amps together? How does that work?

Nice didn't know about that ^

Would a 12 Gauge wire be enough to handle 400 watts?

EDIT: I was looking at KnuKonceptz Power distributer, it takes in a 4AWG wire (which is what I currently have to my 1 amp), and splits it into 4 8AWG wires. Will an 8AWG to each of the 2 amps I'm planning be big enough? And since the distributer splits it into 4 ports, will the 2 empty ports I won't be using have any effect?

12 guage for speaker wire yes, Hope you have 8 guage min for your power now. then you just split it near the amps. Look at parts express online local shops are gonna rip you for a distrobution block.

Thanks for the help

how will I go about bridging 2 amps together? Can you do that with 2 different amps?

Also, instead of buying a new amp all together, do you think it's safe if I run my current set up in parallel and drop the ohms to 2?
