Receivers that play DVDs - Looking at the Alpine DVA-9860 or 9861 - Any Alternatives?

The title says it all. Looking for a deck that plays DVDs. The Alpine seems to be the logical choice, but I've been reading alot of posts about defective Alpines. Wondering if anyone else makes something that looks as good and sounds as good. Any suggestions????

I had a Clarion about 4-5 years ago that crapped out on me. Also, looking for a deck that doesn't have a screen....so like a cd receiver that plays DVDs. Check out the models in the title....that's what I'm looking for. I have a screen already, so to have two and pay the premium would be dumb in my case. Thanks for the suggestion!

yeah i see what you mean, IMO either one of those models would be good, alpines a good brand just dont buy refurbs.

For what its worth, the 9860 and 9861 haven't been released so no one knows how reliable they will be.
