optimal according to them so they dont get a bunch back under warranty because guys dont know how to run 1000 watts to a woofer and not blow it.500 W RMS is optimal according to JL
Hmmm, gotta disagree with you. Hooked my buddy's 12w6 to a 500/1 and hit a 142.2 on the TL. Seemed like it was plenty sufficient enough......that 500/1 will be insufficient. i know, i ran one on a 12w6v2, then i went ot the 1000/1.
high school english is something everyone should attend.Hmmm, gotta disagree with you. Hooked my buddy's 12w6 to a 500/1 and hit a 142.2 on the TL. Seemed like it was plenty sufficient enough......

mics arent really a good measurement tool since you can manipulate them by placing them in different spots and mics vary from one to another, so dont throw out numbers because there is no real standard for measuring SPL among non-competing hobbyists. a 12w6 is a completely different animal than a w6v2. and i am not saying a 500/1 wont get the job done, but a 1000/1 would be better suited to the woofer.
your above post says otherwise. why would you want to stick an amp on a woofer and not be able to get all that you can out of it? it just doesn't make sense. might as well go big or go home. you will not only gain better sounding bass, but it will be louder as well.Ah yes, forgot to say that it was a v2. I'm not saying that the 12w6v2 can't handle a 1000/1, because it can, you're right. But you're wrong in saying that the 500/1 isn't sufficient enough for it, it is.
Oh, and my english is fine. Atleast that's what AP graders told me.....
That's the reason I gave the TL scores out, to try and show how much a w6v2 is capable of under "normal" conditions. And by normal I mean a pretty basic ported enclosure, a dash mounted mic, and a JL 500/1. That's all. I don't want to keep arguing back and forth with you. All I originally said was that I disagreed with your statement about the 500/1 being insufficient for the 12w6v2 and I still disagree. So does JL Audio.your above post says otherwise. why would you want to stick an amp on a woofer and not be able to get all that you can out of it? it just doesn't make sense. might as well go big or go home. you will not only gain better sounding bass, but it will be louder as well.
