i'm gonna help my friend build a box for his extended cab 1500. He has 2 kicker comp 12's, and he wants more tight bass than any thing. so i told him that a sealed box would be best, so with 3/4in mdf board. how much cu. ft. do u think these subs are gonna need i was thinkin between 1.75 to 2.5 cubes.

I have a couple friends with comps and the setup that sounds the best to the ear is sealed, on the larger side of box recommendations (ironically he built the box without any size specs and it sounds better than the other prefab boxes for sure).

so what is the formula for finding the volume, adding in the 3/4in mdf board.
LXWXH, adding .75, or 1.50" counting both side, divided by 1728

so if you have total 27" across, and I mean total...take off 1.50", so now you have 25.50"...figure same for other measurements.
