rearfire in truck=loud!

Well my bud told me my sub would be alot louder firing backwards in my ext cab, so I flipped the box around.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif BIG differance. Its a type r 12 in a ported box pushed w/ 1200rms. Its seriously uncomfortable to sit in the truck with the windows down now. Nobody can believe its only 1 sub back there. way louder than foward firing. If anyone has subs facing foward in the ext. cab you should see what the sound like rearfiring. Mine is as close to the front seats as possible. oh, and im getting some big back window flex!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

i have a ranger ext cab

i built the box ot fit exactly where and how it is.. so i cant really turn it around haha

id be pushed all the way forward and straight up for the back

well thats good to know actually. goin to be buying a truck here in a month or two. I was gonna fire the subs up. Guess i might have to try this

I couldn't really determine a difference between SPL in my truck when I tried multiple positions and locations, unlike other cars of course.

Mine is forward firing, and any other direction did not seem to have any more benefit it seemed. I also have a Dodge Dakota Ext Cab.

What truck do you have?

exactly how far from the back wall are the subs?

its a 98 chevy fullsize, the subs about 10" from the back wall, and the sub is sitting on the back seat. Its definatly louder though, because I got the idea from my bud when we were having a little competition out behind the school, at first his system was louder with 2 12" polks sealed off 1000rms, facing back, but then I flipped the box and mine was louder. with only 1 sub! I mean way louder I was playing bme click and the dash was hopping, cans spinning in the cup holders and this chick had to get out of my truck cause it was too loud.

i tried firing mines back and i gained alittle output but alot more rattle i up fire mine and its about the same as backfiring them
