Rear speakers: in or out?

I have a 2003 Olds Alero (same as Grand Am). There are 5x7s in the rear deck that I currently have turned off because they sound like crap and I don't need rear speakers anyway. My question is whether it would help removing them to allow airflow from the 2 12"s in the trunk or if that would defeat pressurization that the subs need? I would leave the grills in place so it looks stock, but i was curious about whether open holes of that size would positively or negatively impact the performance of the subs.

Thanks in advance for replies,

C

I have heard alot of people state that removing the rears will allow for alot more soundwaves to unobstructedly travel into the cabin, but when I did this on my girlfriends car, I did not notice one bit of difference. Then again, she does not have high power subs in the first place (only running about 300watts), so that may be the cause of not being able to hear a difference.

Thanks for the replies. I'll pop em out tomorrow night if I get a chance. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif
