Rear Speaker Setup Needed???

I been reading some of these posts and many have claimed that the rear speakers are not needed to be in the car audio mix. That a good front stage and subwoofer is all that is needed for a super audio system.

I guess I am new to this idea; and was wonder if you left the rear speakers out; what is the sound like compare to leaving them in?

I have a 1991 Honda Accord SE and right now the setup is:

Kenwood KVT 512

Alpine SPX-17PRO 6-3/4" Component System or Focal 165K2P

Alpine PDX.5 Amp

I have not decided up a 6X9" speaker - 2 channel, 3 channel?

I listen to mostly pop songs some Bruce Springsten; John Mellencamp, Frank Sinatra, Wille Nelson, etc...

Have any suggestions as to 1. pulling in a rear speaker and what 6X9"? 2. Component Fronts ?

Why leave it rear speaker out? I guess that my main question!

I have multiple question here that needs to be address!!

I just put in the Hertz MLK front stage and it sounds awesome. But I have decided I want some sound coming from the rear so I am going to power so coaxes off the HU. This is just my opinion. In the front seat, no rear fill is needed. But I have some pretty big bass and the back passengers are overwhelmed with the bass and the front stage is too far away.

I decided to put in a new set of rears to complete the system even if it is not needed. It seems that is the proper way the audio is designed.

That just another $100 and $50 for installation. If I left it out; then when there is back passengers; they would ask how come they do not hear any sound from the back and I would have to explain it! $600 fronts but no rear speakers???

I will add some rears also. Someone stated to put a toggle switch on the rears but I think I could just use the fader and fade it to the front until I cant really hear the rears But when I have rear passengers, I could fade it more evenly. That should work!
