Rear fill question....

I've got a simple question and the search didnt seem to help. So I've been thinking lately about getting rid of the 6x9's. Would you guys advise against this based on the setup listed in my sig? If so, can I use the rear channels off my headunit to also power my fronts? Thanks in advance.

1) Ditch the rearfill

Misread your question.

You don't want to use your deck's power in addition to the external amplifier to power your front speakers. But you could bridge the JBL to your front speakers, increasing their power.

I have rear fill but only run off deck power with my front comps amped,i can't tell the difference when they are on or off to be honest.

You dont need rearfill, but if you are like me and want the feeling of sound surrounding you, then yes you can use your headunit to power the backs.

Just reread your post and you said you want to power your fronts with your deck? In your sig you say you have a jbl amp powering your highs. I would just use that amp for your fronts and put the deck on your back.

Since I'm strapped for cash, I'd sell both the 6x9's and the amp then just run the fronts off the headunit, hence the thread...IMO I dont think it will sound better but I can really use the $250. any final comments?

keep the amp, comps will not sound good on HU power after you have heard them on the amp. Off the 6x9's and go donate some plasma to make some extra scratch.

Usually $40 or so....Haven't had to do it in a long time, they usually have it set so you have to come back several times to get the most cash.
