Rear fill for Maverick 73...Components or Coaxials??

you're missing the point of rear fill, its simply a suplement, you dont want it to overpower the fronts. If you have that money in the budget for speakers, spend it on the fronts and dont spend more then 150 on coax's

X2 , I am only using mine because they are laying around the garage

Please guys, tell me then some good coaxials for the rear fill in the $400-$450 price range. Txs.
DOOD thats some money even for frontstage (yea i know its chump change for you hardcore audiophiles) but i would reccomend rainbow. cant go wrong with them!

I think I'm going to buy the Mb Quart PCE210 for the front, or tell me another 4" component set please. BTW txs for all the repplies! This a great forum! What should I look for the rear fill then? and BTW, why not a cap?, are they that bad?

exactly, the rears are not your soundstage, the front is what you'll mostly be hearing for mid-high range. and a subwoofer will take over the really low stuff. the rears are just there, but you dont want to notice them, you want the focal point of the music being right at your ears. by putting in overpowering speakers in the rear, its going to pull the soundstage back and it wont sound as good, or as realistic. honestly, i'd switch that amp around, 100w to the front and 50w to the rear. and get a nice sq/sql sub with that 400 bucks. you can get rediculous 6x9 boston coax's for 399, but they're going to take over your system. you want the comps to do the work.

Perfect guys I'll buy 5 1/4 for the front and I'll make or buy custom kick panels, but what about the cap? Why don't I need it?

Yeah 6.5s. I beleive he is askingabout the mb because they have it where you can mount the tweeter on the mid to make a coax. If thats what you are saying get the refernce series less money wont need as much power and wont pull sound stage backwards. I was looking at that exact same set up at first

why? mb quart doesnt make high end coaxials because you can mount the tweeter directly to the mid making it a coaxial. The only coaxial they make is the discus line wich is the very bottom they have the reference, premium and q lines. From the refernce up they recommend using the component set mounting the tweeter on the mid making it a coaxial. I am talking about using it for rear fill and still running it as a component set up front. hence the use of the pro series up front and the refernce series in the back
