Rear deck speakers

I have a 2011 Camaro SS coupe, I currently have 1 JL 12w7 pushed with a slash 1000. I am going to upgrade all the factory speakers. I am going with hertz, I originally was going to stay JL, but everyone seems to like the Hertz more. Ive heard it is best to replace the factory 6x9's with component 6.5's, do you guys agree? If I stay with 6x9 I would go with the Hertz MPX 690.3, otherwise I will switch it with the Hertz MPX 165.3. Thanks in advance for your advice!

Ditch the rears. Open up the holes. The only thing that will happens it the subs will distort the rear deck. And it sounds better without them anyway. Stereo is 2.1. Left right and sub. Not left right rear and sub

No, I do not agree with putting 6.5s in the place of 6x9s in many cases. If you don't have any problems with the rear speakers now then I would go with 6x9s of better quality. They should not be allowed to play the same frequencies as the subwoofer. Setting a steep high pass filter on the sub and the 6x9s will help prevent some of the interaction as they will not be overlapping.

I'm a fan of rear speakers as a benefit for all seats, so long as they're not buried down by the floor.
