real big problem here...inline fuse blowing before car is even started...

OP... you could also take a DMM and ohm check your power wire to ground ( make sure you check on the amp side of the fuse first, most likely your short is on that side, otherwise your wire would be getting really hot really quick) ... if you get a really low ohm reading, you have a short

 
alright sorry for taking a while to respond ill be taking the whole strand out and checking it today. if it is just the wire could i wrap it with electrical tape or would that not be safe?
