Steve said he would pull out all the stops on customizing the subs, but I a little reluctantly, because I've never heard them. He said he can make me a sub that sounds better and is louder than a XXX Guaranteed! Is this true?

He knows what he is doing. And the HW SQL is no joke for sq. My pure SPL HWs sound just like my SS XXX which is a SQL sub

Well to my understanding he would customize them to the point of becoming SQ by softening suspension, basically just using the motor, i think. I guess what I'm really asking is can steve actually make a sub of this calibur, please don't take this as disrespect, again I am "GREEN". Is it possible to make a better sounding, louder sub than the XXX?

Get an Alpha instead of a HW. I personally think my Alphas sound as good if not better (louder) than my old '05 XXX.

Thank you sir that means alot coming from a guy with a XXX logo for an avatar. I will take your advice. Oh and to be honest I have never heard a XXX sub either LOL..... Man I don't know ish.

there are lots of subs that rival the XXX and also ones that best it. and there a many sub builders that can custom make subs that will do just that. The issue I see with a custom sub is if somthing happens to it, and you can't get the same guy or parts, you no longer can have the same setup. But that may be a very small percentage of risk, and may well be worth it

Well if you are wondering about how he is with subs. His subs have taken over 20 records this last season in multiple associations.. And the HeavyWeights are being used in the worlds loudest stock vehicle.

And don't fret, if you don't like it you can always sell and try something else. that is one of the real beauties of CA.com
