Re Warranty Policy Is Bs

I would not warranty them either, it is not a fault of the manufacturer of the sub that they blew. Why should they warranty them? Just because they are nice guys? One sub I can see them doing, 2 or more subs, especially at the same time screams abuse. OP needs to go after the amp guys.

How about put some facts in here instead of all this guessing. What exactly failed on the subs? Pics? What was playing during that 60secs and how loud was the volume? What was your voltage output set to on your amp? Where were your other settings? I'd also love to see a pic of that melted terminal. I know exactly what Chris means by a spark and if that's the case then it's not as bad as you're making it out to be. Also you bought the amp from dB-r, not Sundown Audio. Sundown isn't responsible, dB-r is and he's taking care of you getting you an amp.

lolz, ive yet to see an AC power supply send out DC. It might look like it on an oscope, but i's not the reality of it.

anyways, id not fret. You're getting a new amp and RE subs are overpriced china subs to begin with. Id just get some recones from FI for your SE's.....if they even make them for SE's.

the music just a burned 30hz tone . the gains were all turned all the way down. the amp never sent a signal to the subs ( never heard a thing )they appeared to just get straight dc and raise and stay there until i killed the power a few seconds after noticing . NOW THE AMP (FROM DB-R SUNDOWNS ONLY AUTHORIZED RESELLER OF THEIR PRODUCTS) CAME TO ME WITH THE GROUND TERMINAL MELTED ALMOST 1/3 OF THEWAY AROUND IT FROM THE BOTTOM AND UP THE RIGHT HAND SIDE . NOT JUST BURNED BUT MELTED . AS FAR AS ALL THE SHIT MESSWED U[PINSIDE THE AMP I NEVER LOOKED INSIDE IT . I WAS TOLD 2 DAYS BACK THAT IT WAS FIXED AND ONLY HAD 1 BAD MOSFETT . NOW HE WANTS TO KEEP IT TO KEEP TESTING BEFORE HE CAN SELL IT AGAIN ? THAT REALLY SOUNDS LIKE BULL SHIT TO ME . like i said before ill still use sundown they make great products and did replace the amp but the excussed they are making are all bullshit and they keep making newones with no real answers . AND THEAMP IS FROM A AUTHORIZED SUNDOWN DEALER AND IT IS A SUNDOWN PRODUCT.

The subs were wired in parallel and they are both dead shorts (melted/burned) after the indecent?

If one of the vc's where bad (shorted) when you hooked it up, wouldn't that side of the circuit

**** all the current and hopefully throw the amp into protect (obviously not, but in theory)?

I'd like to see pics of the subs terminals.

Sounds like a bad amp....blew your subs...i had someone sell me an amp that will fry subs as soon as you hook them up..it will make the speaker cone shoot out all the way ...then magic smoke.....takes 30 secs or less....for t5his to happen....almost like wall socketing them....

So if you read your warranty card on your subs...you'll see they don't cover that...no sub manufacturer will...I think I'd be looking at the person who repaired your first amp and have them replace the bad subs ...since it sounds like you were sold a bad amp....to begin with

there are no visible burn marks on the subs at all?

Your story is jumping around here. You said in your 1st post the gain was more than half way and then you mentioned later were turning the gain up while it was playing & now you only say it was all the way down. Either way you're not telling me the measured output which it seems you didn't measure it which would mean you (and the shop you paid) didn't install the amp properly.

dB-r is a seperate company from Sundown Audio. Yes they are an authorized dealer and if you bought a new amp it would be covered by the Sundown warranty. Yes they are the official repair center but when you purchase a refurbished amp you're purchasing a dB-r product and get the dB-r warranty.

no it wasnt measured . and it was all the way down when i started the truck i went to adjust the gain and yes i did turn it to no more than half way when i still didnt get any sound and noticed the subs where just sticking out i killed the truck . i didnt pay the shop to installthe amp i paid them to check all of my wiringbefore i hooked up the amp to make sure it was ready for the amp and with the gain being down more than half way it had no reason to blow the mosfet . I did get sold a crappy amp and it did mess up my subs .

regaurdless they are a sundown employee selling thier products and they should look into how he is representing thier company . im still not holidint anyone responsible i cant prove anything . but I do feel that I got screwed and that the way db-r is going about the repair and return is shady .
