re-using wire harness ok?

i have a JVC HU installed right now and im about to get a Alpine CDA-9886. Should i just go ahead and install a whole new wiring harness or can i just splice the old one and use it? Does it really matter?

cutting the stock wirness? i wouldn't mind doing this car that only got few more years left/ don't have any resell value. It is usually a mess when wires are too short though

what harness are you talking about?

if you mean tapping into the cars harness itself, no, thats stupid.

If you're talking about the harness that plugs into the cars harness, yeah thats fair game as long as its compatible with the headunit (which i imagine it is)

If you are talking about the adapter harness that plugs in to your car then yes you are fine reusing it.
