That's what my multimeter looks like when I switch it to measure imepdence when the ends AREN'T touching anything. Wire it first then measure the impedence at the end of the wire.

Worked for me.

Did you not read the link ?
Impedance includes a resistive component, but it also includes a reactive component.

Hence the reason speakers have a Re (DCR, or resistance) and a Z (nominal impedance).

my dmm was set on ohms. when i put the same dmm on the same setting on my claw basket mag it reads 2.
