Well, as you have all seen in the couple of threads that I have posted in, and made, part of this dilema has been resolved.

There is something odd about this, i dont know what it is though. The woofer is a D2, but is showing 1 ohm on my dmm. The coil itself has no burn marks on it, so I dont know whats going on. Oh well though. It is most likely going to Scott at FI for either an original recone, a hybrid recone with Q soft parts, or an original modded HC recone(most likely what ill be doing). I also may be doing a complete rebuild of the woofer from David at RE. Just waiting for him to reply to my pm.

I spent about 2 minutes total in the shop that had my woofer. I went in and asked for the owner-Don. He knew what I was there for, so he brought me my woofer. He said the previous guy was being really shady, saying that he didnt steal it, but he would talk to the guy who had it before him. Then Don called autozone, where the dude works, looking for parts for his legend. The previous owner of the woofer answered the phone, and put him on hold and had someone else answer his call.

o o o o o the dmm is showing the coil is blown... but glad you got it back...what happened to the guy that stole it?
i edited my first post. nothing has happened as of right now. still looking for my amp and cd player. i dont care about the cd player, but would like to get my amp back: planet audio p1250d.

Not quite. In direct current applications we have resistance, like amp power wires, etc. On the AC side (like audio) we have impedance, such as voice coils.
ohms = impedance = resistance of current the amp will see? thats the way ive always looked at it.

Impedence and resistance are the same thing. Just different names.
Did you not read the link ?

Impedance includes a resistive component, but it also includes a reactive component.

Hence the reason speakers have a Re (DCR, or resistance) and a Z (nominal impedance).
