RE SX Owner's Previous & Current....Opinions Needed

i have 2 15" SX's (dual 4 ohm) that i will be powering with an orion 2500d @ 1ohm..... do u think they will handle the power alright?...its just for daily listening...no comps......i've heard some people say that anything over their RMS rating will cook them and others saying they can handle up to 2000 RMS daily.....what do u guys think?.....btw they're in a ~7 cube box tuned to 32 Hz.....i'm looking for people's responses who have experience with these subs because i dont wanna hook them up with too much power and end up with a pair of fried subs a week later....i have browsed other threads and seen a few of ur guys' opinions already but i'd like as many as possible

Yes. the impedance in a 7.0 box will cut the wattage seen.

I ran (2) 15" D2.0 ohm in a 5.2 box with an Orion 2500. Actual wattage seen was ~1600 iirc.

i dont have experience with them but im positive that they will handle that much power...

were u wired to 4 ohm...or .5 ohm?.....you wouldn't have been able to get a 1 ohm load with (2) dual 2's right?...also how would i be able to measure the actual wattage seen once i have my install done?

No you can't get a 1 ohm final load with (2) Dual 2 ohm SX's.... You can get a .5, 4 or 8 ohm nominal operation.

You'd need (2) Dual 4 ohm SX's to get a nominal final impedance of 1 ohm

My fault misread his last post. You won't be disappointed with the SX's at all ;P. Be prepared to be heard from "more than a block" away lol.

A clamp ampmeter & a DMM. Amperage x Voltage = wattage.

That install got upto ~150.4 in my trailblazer in a Rex'ish box.

Souneded very decent doing it.

clamp an ammeter (ebay for "fluke clamp") around on speaker conductor (the + OR the -, not both) at the amp. probe the speaker terminals at the amp with a dmm set to AC voltage.

Amperage x voltage = wattage.

Voltage / amperage = impedance.
