my sub comes in tom, amp doesnt come in till friday. my first set up so i cant wait, almost got all the wiring done. can i run the sub without the amp?

i was running my 2 12" cvrs off of my pioneer H/U (deh-3900mp) for a while until i got a amp, but it does have it to whear u can change the rear outs from full to sub so no highs or mids going to the sub. but not all headunits have that.
