RE SE Box question

I've got a 15 RE SE on the way and I'm just wondering what the best way to mount the sub is. The box is 3.5 cubes after displacement tuned to 34. The box will be going in an 02 Tahoe.

Which would be better?

Sub up, port back?

Or

Sub and port firing back?

Also, would it be wise to tune any lower?

I'd tune a little lower, but I prefer a flatter response.

30hz is what I'd go for.

Sub up, port back.

Same as I did in my suburban! just tuned a little lower, 32hz. Sub up port back.

Should get pretty loud and sound great for what it is if you have enough power.

^^^I got ~4ft^3 after port and sub displacement, tuned to a little under 36hz. That port is just too big too IMO.

Sub up port back.

Tuning is personal preference & what you're trying to accomplish, anywhere from 29-35hz should be alright. I'd go 31hz.
