i have one re se 12 in a 1 cuft sealed box runnin about 700 rms to it and its rated for 600 rms, am i gonna be safe at this level in the long run...... whats the most you guys have powered one for long term? and i was considering going ported, how they sound ported...... i drive a 2000 cougar which is a hatchback would it be more beneficial going sealed or ported, its sounds very clean now but seems to lack on the extreme lows

My first sub was one of those SE 15" subs. I liked how it sounded ported. I powered it with a Hifonics bx1206. I wired it to 2 ohms which put out about a true 750watts. I had this setup for about a year and the SE never had problems with the over powering.

as long as it clean power and u know how to use the volume knob wisely yea IT CAN TAKE IT
