haven't got my box built or anything yet (will be a sealed encloser) i was just wondering if there is anything that i need to worry about with wiring the RE SE10 to a hifonixs brutus 1000d at 2ohms of resistance which according to maxxsonics will put them amp at 700watts rms, yet the sub can only handle 600 watts rms but 1200w peak

just wondering what i need to not do so i'm not lookin for a new sub or amp anytime soon

yes i'm a newb to audio.... only way to learn is to read and ask questions

uh oh, wire it down to 1ohm then and just keep the gains down. Even then the SE can take a HELL of an *** whoopin and still play like new. There are a few people running phd2's on SE's with no problems. Like 1 per sub. And i know i've heard alot of people on the forums run

over 1KW to their SE's.

well you also cannot get a dvc 4ohm sub hooked up to 4ohms either. Which is what he said he was wiring it to. So i assumed he had a dual 2ohm sub. 4 ohm or 1ohm with 2ohm dvc.

So yeah run it at 2ohms if you have a dual 4ohm

dual2 = $+25 extra

they are dual 4ohm, and he had a mistake with his post.

i was running my RE SE 10" off a DEI 1100d that does 800w @2ohm, and the sub took every bit of juice, in fact, i ran the amp at full tilt for 20 minutes or so, and it overheated and went into protect. the sub was like 'aw, where did my power go //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/bawling.gif.6287aa5d1d447c8af063fc9466e822ef.gif'

i think its safe to say they can take a hell of alot more than 800w. i wouldnt be scared to give it 1100 if it went to 1ohm.

heyy just becareful..is all. a guy told me stuff but i think he might of just been stupid, so i wont repeat it cause now he denies he said it......if your warrenty doesnt cover accidents then you have no warrenty.....

get a better amp those bx1000d's prolly don't put out n e mroe then 400 or so at 2 ohms and I've ran 1200 underrated watts through an SE daily and its still up n runnin strong w/ nor problems for the last few months
