SX statement...If this is refering to being way louder than a type r...thats wrong.
MT statement...again not true.

not trying to be a dick, but both of those statements are very install dependent. I have 2 RL-ps and a Budy of mine has 2 MT 18's and the SQ in his truck isnt bad at all. and Many members here have done head to head testing on the R and SX and the R has won more than a few times.

well anything is install depenent, I can beat youre MTs with 2 6.5 is the installs are done wrong on the MTs doesnt mean having a knowledgeable person doing both installs the 6.5" are gonna win. SE has better SQ than a type R but not louder, XXX is louder and better SQ, SX way louder same SQ, MT way louder whats SQ?, MX louder and better sq, re not as loud but better sq.

One test that you did with the SX vs. the type-r? What about the other subs? I'm assuming you are just making assumptions about the other subs performance characteristics by what others have said.

In fact, my 3 year old seXXX was louder than a brank spanking new SX, and the type-r was considerably louder than both.

i got to 12 " alpine type r and i was gonna get some resonat engineering subs dont know what kind yet but what does everyone think is better re or alpine i need more bass lots more

If you've had every RE sub there is, I don't think that you aren't an "RE fan" even though you say you aren't. Somebody who doesn't remotely prefer one brand over another isn't going to go out and purchase every model sub that a company produces.

I have no idea why you mentioned kicker. I've never owned nor do I currently own any Kicker subs.

You can keep Mark and TCAB out of this, since they have nothing to do with what my OWN TESTING has shown me.

I don't think that 151 in the kick, 147+ on the dash, and a 147 at the headrest (all below 45 hz) is "overrated"

I don't always promote one brand over another. In fact, i've sold a few RE products to people who asked me for recommendations.

I recommend a product based on the install and what the person wants, not based on what brand I'm currently using.

You have to admit that the type-r is a D*MN good sub for the money, and has similar performace to subs costing 2-3x as much.

What was the sub that you said cost the same as the type-r but performed better? I'm always up for trying new subs if the cost is reasonable.

And in case you are unaware, Sonic FX hasn't made a sub in well over a year to my knowledge. Why did you randomly bring up mark in this thread anyways? You try to toss me in the the TCAB crew when I have nothing to do with TCAB.

as for a **** good sub? I would say its a good $100 sub, rather use a memphis M3 or a pair of Prs, but its an ok sub for tyhe money dont know about **** good though. only people ive seen claiming these monster numbers are you and mark.

According to their website, they stopped making subs in july of 2005 and focused on hosting shows.

And I have also discussed sonic FX stuff with people who used to own their stuff. Hell, one of the people actually had to get an amp from IA because sonic FX wasn't making them anymore. The dealer of sonic FX had to make a deal with IA so the guy could get an amp that he was promised.

I don't know what happened to mark. He seemed eager to make things right, thus I was willing to help him. I haven't heard from him in over a week, so I have absolutely no idea what happened to him. I was willing to get his business problems straightened out a while ago when they needed to be done, but he's dug himself in too deep for anyone to help him now.

Me, mark, tobias, and a few others have had great numbers from the type-rs. Hell, my teammate of mine threw a 12" R in his subaru wagon off a zx2500 @ 2 ohms (where it's rated for 2500+ watts) and pulled a 149.5. There's more people than just me and mark.
