RE MT for Daily Driving?

I just installed my 12 inch XXX today running off a Nine.1, and oh my god is all I have to say. The SPL is practically unbearable, it literally blurrs your vision on heavy bass songs, and sounds like i have multiple subs in the car. I can't imagine why anyone would need more bass than that for a daily lol.

yeah ok and this thread isnt about your xxx so go back to your ghey thread about how your install is all wrong but you wont listen to anyone.....
Umm, I have the XXX in right now in the shitty prefab 1 cube box, and its louder than anything i have ever heard in my entire life. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

OMG! don't tell me you put it in that prefab! you are only hearing half the potential of the sub running it in there! you think it is loud now, wait till you hear it in the right box (assuming you are having one built). As for the MT's for daily driving, a friend of mine runs 2 18's in his honda wagon for daily driving, he likes it, but he is also a sick in the head kind of dude and has high expectancies for upcoming competitions, I belive he is putting 1200+ to each of them with multiple batteries and a HO alt, as far as I know there is no power ratings on the MT, the way I take it RE assumes anyone buying them knows what they are doing and should know what kind of power to throw it. If you only listen to rap or want to be insanely loud you should be fine with one.

I know where your coming from, but trust me after a week or two, you'll get adjusted to it and want to be louder, inevitably you'll end up getting a new box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

ntense you and moe lester have convinced me that the mt will be a fine dd, i should be upgrading to one in about 2 months //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

it will be a fine dd, and if you install it right you will be the loudest car around, it will take whatever power you throw to it, just make sure you got loud highs and mids otherwise you all you will hear is relentless sound pressure //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Moe designed me a box for my MT's. It is unreal. I run 2 18" MT's daily...and push them hard everyday. I run 2 visonik v4000xd's on 4 16v batts. Been doing this for a while now..and it doesnt phase them. They are fine for a dd sub. Friends who ride with me think they sound AWESOME. Havent had one complaint about how they sound. Very accurate to my hearing. Dont worry..they are good dd subs!

I dunno man, this thing is stupid loud, i already had passengers complaining that the sub "hits too hard and hurts them" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

Really? I had people saying that about my Infinity Kappa Perfects... it's all in how you build the box... I'll bet my IKPs ***** what you have for low end right now.... BUILD A NEW BOX, that it all.... good day

as far as the MT daily, it isn't the most musical sub, but the listening I've done tells me that they are unbearably horrid, but I wouldn't buy one if you aren't planning on competing, there are so many subs that get 'loud' that are still much more musical.

I run an MT 18 with (2) A3000Db's on it and I couldn't be happier. This thing is loud and it sounds **** good. Snova is right about most of the folks on this forum (they wouldn't know an MT if they were looking right at one). I think you would be quite happy with an MT, but you need some pretty stout amplifiers to get it moving well.
