The hdc alums, and the 9500s are both better subs.. Its not even close imo.. Mts are old news.. Still good though

you do see alot of them blown f/s on here.

im not saying they are bad subs and cant take a beating

ive seen 2 on 8k loud as hell

but i think the 9500 can out last the mt as far as life/burp.

i think the mt will like more power daily then the 9500.

i've owned both, 9500s were ok, just too godly expensive.. MTs I loved, they "felt" as if they hit harder on the same types of music I did tests on when I was checking how well my deadener worked...

i'd take MTs on 2000-3000, dds for 3000+ watts daily.

people have burped 20k rms on MTs and they held. it is all in the enclosure based. the mts are a good woofer so are the dd's.

nice way to compare them. are you saying that your MTs were louder to the ear and liked them better for daily over the 9500s?

yea overall, to the ear it seemed louder, to my body.. it felt like more pressure lol.

the reason you have seen alot of blown mts is there are alot of ppl useing them in extream applications.

theres a guy here that used DD Z1 amp.. and he said that the MT cant handle that kind of power so that's why he'll change the MT to DD95xx series.. little bit confused. for only 3000rms the MT will get blown?? lol

The DD by far is a better sub... Not because I own some at the moment but because of there performance and design.... The MT has crap for cooling. Actually they really dont have any cooling besides the vents in the standard 12 spoke basket. The cone is a Standard Paper/Kevlar cone (Great cone) The coil isnt really much to brag about also.. Small gauge 8 layer aluminum wound. The DD 9500 has the best cooling of any sub out there.. With the exception of the DD Z series.. The DD cone is the only thing that is not better then the MT. The former material on the DD coil is atleast twice as strong as the MT also. The MT is a great sub but to say it is better then the DD 9500 is going a lil to far.

O plus you get more cone displacement from the DD

Also Mt's are prone to having the dustcap blow off under high power
