it IS a scam, and I fell for it about year ago, hook, line and sinker. Now I am out $80

A friend of mine did that a few months ago. He was all excited and shit about it. We tried to tell him not to do it, it was a scam, but he kept saying he "knew people that have done it and it worked out for them", just like he does about everything else. So he bought into it. I still don't think he's received any stickers or anything from them. It's all died down now, I think he realises he made a mistake by not listening to me.
