I was looking at RE *** 12s and apparently there are some corners cut and potential quality issues with them... I'm not risking it.

So you have purchased them and done side by side testing? Because the only thing that changed was cosmetics. Same coils spiders motors and glues.

i tried the SE woofers in a few different alignment and was never impressed except it could get low and loud down low.. they never sounded nearly as good as any of the "sq" woofers like the older IDQ v2 or w3s or D6s etc. and they surely couldn't compete in output with the DD2500s or similar woofers..

for the money you can't go wrong with ascendant audio arsenal or DD 1500 series for the same price..
